The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the Law "On Implementation of the Minimal Living Wage and Minimal Salary for the Year 2010", initiated by the Party of Regions. The Law was adopted by 254 votes.
"It is extremely important that today the Law "On Implementation of the Minimal Living Wage and Minimal Salary for the Year 2010" is adopted and all the parliamentary fighting for the bill adoption that had been held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from April are stopped", - First Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared during the briefing for the journalist. "I suppose that in such a way we protect the opportunities of the least protected citizen of Ukraine and would stimulate the development of the inner consumers market", - the politicians marked.
Giving answers to the question whether the President is obliged to sign this Law, O. Lavrynovych announced that: "It is not an obligation, it is his right." "I hope that the head of the State would not delay the scrutiny of this Law and would sign it. Otherwise we would efficiently scrutinize his motions if there are any", - The First Vice-Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament informed.
